SPY's own gamma tool reported a zero-gamma flip at 650.27 this morning — 18.3% below spot. That's worth catching rather than repeating: a flip that far away isn't a real near-term pivot, and the raw per-strike data doesn't support it. Pulling the actual strike-by-strike numbers, the cumulative gamma curve crosses cleanly from negative to positive between the 771 and 772 strikes — the 771 strike carries −$313M, and 772 flips to +$177.4M. That's the real, locally relevant crossing, sitting just 0.3–0.4% above spot, not 18% below it.
With that correction in hand: spot (768.97) is trading under both the real crossing point and its own put wall (770, also today's max pain). Net gamma is skewed negative overall (+$537M above spot vs. −$1,364M below), consistent with spot sitting on the wrong side of where the curve turns positive. Expected move is ±1.2% today — wide enough that reclaiming 771–772 is a real, live question, not a formality.
Practically: 770–773 is the real structural band today, not a number near 650. Reclaim 771–772 and SPY is back on the positive side of its own gamma curve, with the 773 call wall right behind it as the next check. Stay under 770 and the deeply negative gamma below (−$1,364M in aggregate) means dealer hedging is working against the tape, not for it.

| Ticker | Spot | Flip | Call Wall | Status | Today's flow |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| META | 741.67 | 698.76 | 750 | IN ZONE | Five separate puts (760/765×2/770×2, all 10/16) totaling ~$580.9K, against four calls (800×2 10/2, 765 & 752.5) totaling ~$519.3K. Genuinely mixed, puts slightly ahead in dollars, despite META sitting 6.1% above its own flip in a favorable structure. |
| NVDA | 229.03 | 226.04 | 230 | IN ZONE | $225C 9/28 (today) — $82,538, already in the money. NVDA is 1.3% above its flip with real room to the 230 wall. |
| MU | 1070.79 | 996.67 | 1100 | IN ZONE | $1070P 9/28 (today) — $150,406, struck right at spot. A same-day bearish bet against a name that's 6.9% above its own flip — a genuinely favorable structure to be shorting into. |
| LITE | 938.00 | 995.38 | 1000 | BELOW FLIP | Two $960C 10/2 sweeps — $132,300 + $121,900 — $254,200 combined, struck between spot and the call wall despite LITE sitting 5.8% under its own flip. |
| NET | 341.00 | 378.40 | 350 | BELOW FLIP | $380C 10/16 — $82,000. Struck well past both the call wall (350) and a flip that's 9.9% away — a longer-dated bet on clearing real structure, not a near-money play. |
| AMZN | 247.64 | 257.40 | 255 | BELOW FLIP | Two $252.5C 9/30 sweeps ($75,200 + $55,136 = $130,336) plus one $250P 10/16 ($51,250). Calls outweigh the put here, on a name sitting almost exactly at its own put wall (247.5, 14 cents away). |
| TSLA | 369.60 | 390.00 | 380 | BELOW FLIP | $370C 9/28 (today) — $56,105, struck almost exactly at the put wall (370, 11 cents away). A same-day bullish bet right at the nearest structural level, in a name still 5.2% under its flip. |
| MSFT | 509.93 | 453.34 | 520 | IN ZONE | $517.5C 9/28 (today) — $52,079. MSFT is 11.1% above its flip — the deepest positive-gamma cushion on this list — with its own put wall sitting just 7 cents above spot. |
Two rows in today's raw sweeps feed — a PLTR call and an NVDA call, both tagged with a 9/25 expiry — are left off this list: that expiry already passed, so those prints don't describe a live position today.
