Daily Brief — Fri Oct 2, 2026

Five names on today's watchlist — AMD, NVDA, DELL, BE and TSM — are all trading within half a percent of their own zero-gamma flip at the same time. Plus SPY's GEX levels and the largest print on today's sweeps feed.
Tape: five names on the line at once SPY: 768.00 0.25% below its 769.90 flip Exp move: ±1.7% Bias: small prints decide the regime on more names than usual today

1 · The one thing that matters today

as of 12:45 UTC pre-market

Five separate names on today's watchlist are sitting within half a percent of their own flip simultaneously. AMD is 0.05% above its flip, NVDA 0.06% above, DELL 0.08% above, BE 0.33% above, and TSM 0.41% above — five independently computed gamma regimes, five different tickers, all compressed to a hair's width at the same moment. That's a sharper version of the pattern this board flagged on SPY and NVDA together just yesterday — today it's five names, not two.

One more thing worth flagging before the watchlist: WDC's reported expected move today was 22.8%, with an implied ATM volatility reading of 615%. That's not a real number — checked the raw chain and the readings are consistent with a broken quote, not an actual earnings-style vol spike. WDC is dropped from today's list rather than reported at face value.

Checked against the raw per-strike data: the chain is healthy today — clean sign crossing right around 768/769, a real peak at the 770 call wall (+$1,796.4M), and a real trough at the 760 put wall (−$272.6M). Reclaim and hold 769.90 and SPY sits just under its call wall at 770 — the two levels are only a point apart. Lose 760 and there's real room below with nothing else charted that close.

AMD 634.44 634.11 637.5 IN ZONE $600C 10/16 — $335,000, already in the money. AMD is just 0.05% above its own flip — the single thinnest read on the whole board today.
XOM 161.41 168.20 170 BELOW FLIP $155C 10/16 — $223,000, already in the money. XOM is 4.0% under its own flip and just $1.41 above its own put wall (160) — thin cushion under a bullish bet.
NVDA 235.91 235.77 237.5 IN ZONE $230P 10/2 (today) — $218,500, already in the money. NVDA is 0.06% above its own flip — the second-thinnest read today, backing a bearish same-day bet.
TSM 465.96 464.06 465 PAST WALL $420P 6/17/27 — $128,940, a LEAPS put more than a year and a half out. TSM is 0.41% above its flip and a hair past its own call wall — a long-horizon bearish bet against a thin, favorable near-term structure.
BE 285.30 284.37 285 PAST WALL $280C 10/2 (today) — $120,575, already in the money. BE is 0.33% above its flip and just barely through its own call wall — both numbers razor-thin.
